Called on 萓野警部. He said he had not much intercourse with the missionaries so he didn't know what is going on in the missionary quarters.

In the evening sessions after Mr. Becker, I spoke on Young-men and Thrift. A Japanese detective 久保木 was present and complimented me warmly for the talk I gave.

Morning session―Dr. Avison and Mr. 宋彦用 spoke. Mr. Cram preached in the 西門外禮拜堂. The people admired his way of handling the Korean language so much that they even overlooked his thought.

At 12 took lunch at 李進士(建鎬) home. A fine spread. Called on the 金鎭賢, the 郡守, on Mr. 鄭喬. Then went to Mrs. Kim Yun Jung to say good-bye.

Our 全州 experience has been on the whole very pleasant. No friction. But the attitude of indifference of the missionaries resident in 全州. They showed no sign of welcome on arrival, no sign of courtesy on partiong, no sign of hospitality during the convention. Such a perfect indifference and inhospitality to the delegates was deeply felt by all the Koreans. Then Kim Jung Sik who is strongly anti-f. some hand throw concerning missionaries.

We 金弼秀, 金貞植, 鄭根, 金仁基, 李承斗, 李牧師, 尹, 金榮俊 left car at 滲禮, walked about 10 li to 雙峯亭. Lunch at 崔判事家. Tea at 金's home. About 2 p.m. walked about 25 li to 鄭泰粉農庄. Saw on the way 王儉搭 and 舊書院搭. After refreshment walked 20 li to 水利組合. Call on but missed 崔忠樂. Walked 20 li to 黃登 station tired and food sore. Went to 榮里 and put up at 全州旅館.

Arrived at Moukden at 5:20 a.m. The immensity of the Manchurian plain impresses me much. The sun rises and sets in the cornfields.

Left 大連 for 旅順 at 7:30 a.m. Arrived 旅順 at 9:20 a.m. Proceeded to 白玉山 at once in carriages. Visited all the spots of interest made famous by the Kusso Japanese struggle. The Japanese have made Port Arthur an attractive town.

The 撫順炭礦 said to have discovered and worked by the Koreans 600 years ago. Remains of poetry etc. proves the fact. During the 淸 Dynasty the coal mines shut up in order to preserve the 龍脈 of the imperial grave!

Left 五龍塔 at 5:40 a.m. for Song Do. At 五龍塔 met 林舜喆 an old 韓英書院 boy. He said he has been in 安東 for last 3 years. He said the Japanese officials extend to the Koreans every protection. Whenever Koreans have dispute with the Chinese the Japanese officials show decided favor to the Koreans even to the extent of using troops when the Korean interest involved in worth ¥300.00 Sometime ago the Japanese consulate spent ¥8000.00 to help out a Korean's case involving ¥2,800.00.
