宗橋禮拜堂 morning service as usual. 洪秉璇 denounced 李承晩 from having divorced a wife who proved faithful to him during his imprisonment and to his aged father. Dr. Rhee didn't divorce her and had good reasons for keeping her apart. I thought 洪 was rather too severe.

The little ditch in front of the playground is in bad condition―dirty gap and filthy water. Wonder why the American ladies who must see it so many times a day doesn't have it cleansed.

At 2:30 p.m. went to Pierson Memorial Bible School to attend its dedication service. Mr. Curtis made an address and I interpreted for him. It was too long―.

At 4 Mr. 張伯基 spoke in the Y.M.C.A. 福音會. I interpreted for him. His main thought was that he became an optimist after he had believed in Christ. Two cousins took him to Pagoda Park to give him a cup of tea. Messrs. 李商在, 兪星濬 and I went with them.

At 6:30 p.m. a few Christians of Seoul gave tea to the 視察團 at Y.M.C.A. The authorities or the officials managing this 視察團 seems to have decided dislike for any manifestation of friendship on the part of the Christians toward the 視察團.
