Mr. 趙重應 addressed and rather gave some good advice to the night market people in the large auditorium. Mr. Cho is the only man among the Korean nobles who does on cares to do, anything for what he regards to be the interest of the Korean people.

Wife sick. She is so ill-tempered that nobody cares to go near her even when she is sick. Her vicious temper and unruly tongue are the chief causes of her sickness. Her idea and ideal of life is to do nothing but let others to serve her all the 24 hours of the day. She wouldn't read a line of anything. Her mental stock consists of some very few simple ideas or notions of life derived from old ignorant women. What is disheartening is that she won't learn. She is always unhappy because she is so selfish. Nobody loves her because she loves nobody.

At 4, Horace Underwood, the son of Dr. U. gave a talk on Red Cross. Mrs. Underwood senior also present. The Koreans really honor and love the Underwood.

No fruit of any kind. The villagers outside of North Gate who depend on Korean apples for much of their rice are very hard up owing to the fruit famine.

The authorities seem to be careless of the condition of these people as one might expect of them. One of the villagers said "They don't make roads for us, nor do they allow us to repair them ourselves. They will make roads quick enough when it is to the interest of the Japanese. Well, who wants us to live! What helpless and hopeless situation!
