With Mr. 李南珪 called on Mr. 金元培 said to be the richest man in Song Do. Asked him to start a movement here among his rich friends to raise a subscription of ¥20,000(00/100) for the equipment of the Song Do High School as a token of appreciation of the people of Song Do, of the generosity of the American Christians in establishing and maintaining such fine institutions of learning. Mr. Kim said that he had such a difficulty or failure in persuading the Song Do people to pay off the debt of the 商業學校 that he wouldn't undertake another campaign of raising money.
