Four teachers from Song Do came to see me to ask me to continue my official relation with the Song Do School. They said that the boys are holding meeting after meeting to discuss how they may prevent me from resigning; that, in case I persist in my determination, the boys might agitate an anti-Snyder campaign. To prevent any unpleasant situation, I told the teachers that, as a compromise, I would hold the nominal position of the Principal for the 1st term as far as such a course will not interfere with the spirit of the reasons which I gave for my resignation. This comprise will have to be accepted by the Board of Control. The teachers seemed satisfied with the proposition.
