Seoul home. Today the Coronation ceremony of the Mikado takes place in the ancient Capital of Japan―Kyoto. The police has been feverishly active for several months past to prevent any show of disloyalty to the Heir of Japanese gods. Thousands of young men, suspected of dangerous thoughts have been put behind lock and key throughout the Empire. The most thorough-going measures have been taken in the middle schools of Seoul to make the boys to shout Banzai at 3 p.m. Thousands of yen have been collected from the dry pockets of the Korean population to express their loyalty to the Emperor by lighting lanterns all along the streets, and erecting arches etc.
