To Song Do per 9:15 a.m. train to attend a meeting of the Board of Control. The Board of Missions in Nashville has sent orders to close the Textile Dept. on the last day of May. 馬鍾濡, 金正浩 and few others offer to pay ¥150,000.00 in cash and to take over the plant asking the Nashville Board to give a missionary(Deal) . The local B. of Control cabled the Nashville people to accept the offer since the unconditional closing down would involve the mission in great loss financially and otherwise.

Seoul home. Dinner at Mr. Davison's home 7:30 p.m. The guests, members of the arbitration committee viz:―Messrs. Davison, Underwood, 金永燮 and myself. Mrs. Davison made no effort to disguise her whole hearted contempt for the Korean. She didn't address one single word to either 金 or me during the two hours we were there inspite of the fact that she knew we understood English. I felt miserable but I know too well what human nature is like to blame her.
50
However she had the right not to have invited us―Koreans to her table. To behave herself so meanly to her invited guests only proclaims her vulgar origin and vixenish nature.
