Seoul home. 4 p.m. went to the Seoul Ground to see the baseball match played between the Kei-O team, the strongest college team in Japan and the Industrial Bank(殖銀) team, the strongest in Seoul. Yi Yung Min(李榮敏) the only Korean in the Bank team made a clean home run by sending the ball over the fence. Was pleased to see the Japanese crowd cheer him. The Kei-O's made very few mistakes and won the game 4 to 1―which was a foregone conclusion. All I cared for, anyway was to see the splendid play which the only Korean in the show made. The Japanese ought to take in more Korean in their teams―that will promote Japan-Korean good feelings than mere talk about friendship etc.

Song Do home. Our dear 文姬 had to go home inspite of our and her wishes to stay here longer. Her husband is one of the meanest niggardliest, dirtiest, parasites I have ever seen. He simply torments our Mary to death. He exacts the most slavish obedience from her. It makes me sick to see how silently and helplessly our dear 文姬 suffers. Yet the law of the land is such that she can't free herself from this wretch. He says his ideal character is that of Abraham Lincoln! Think of a Abe. L. unkind and ungenerous to his wife! Think of Abe. L. trying to live off his wife.
