張鵬 told me this morning that he could get along on ￥2000 a month; that, when he appealed this to Mr. Koons for a raise, Mr. K. said: "Why, one family managed to live a week on 1 measure of rice and 1 measure of millet"! No wonder the Korean pastorate is losing many young men who can make a living elsewhere.
