4대 고궁에서 다채로운 공연·전시·체험 프로그램 개최(10.13~18.) / 사전예약 10.6. 오후 2시~
문화재청 궁능유적본부(본부장 직무대리 신성희)는 한국문화재재단(이사장 최영창)과 함께 오는 10월 13일부터 10월 18일까지 6일간 서울의 4대 고궁(경복궁·창덕궁·덕수궁·창경궁)에서 <2023 가을 궁중문화축전>을 개최한다.
‘궁중문화축전’은 아름다운 고궁의 봄·가을을 배경으로 다채로운 전통문화 활용 콘텐츠를 선보여 온 국내 최대 문화유산 축제로, 지난 4월 개최된 <2023 봄 궁중문화축전>에는 약 38만 3천여 명의 관람객이 방문하면서 큰 화제를 모았다.
이번 가을 궁중문화축전에는 경복궁과 창경궁을 중심으로 지난 봄 축전과 차별화된 9개의 기획 프로그램과 10개의 연계 프로그램이 준비됐다.
먼저, ▲ 경복궁 흥복전에서 판소리 공동창작집단 ‘입과손 스튜디오’가 출연하는 창작 판소리 공연 ‘판소리로 듣는 궁 이야기(10.13.~14.)’가 열린다. 30여 년간의 경복궁 복원 이야기를 담은 이번 공연은 오전 11시와 오후 2시 이틀 간 총 4회, 회당 60분씩 진행되며, 사전예약(회차당 200명)을 통해 관람할 수 있고, 현장관람객을 위한 좌석도 일부 운영한다.
또한 ▲ 경복궁 집옥재에서는 ‘아티스트가 사랑한 궁(10.17.~18.)’이 이틀간 오후 7시부터 8시 10분까지 진행된다. 공연 1일차에는 두번째달(융합밴드), 김준수(소리꾼), 하윤주(정가 국악인), 김무빈(국악인)이 출연하며, 공연 2일차에는 양방언(피아노 연주자)과 관현악 밴드가 출연하여 가을밤 집옥재를 무대로 한 특별한 공연을 선사한다. 관람 인원은 회차당 600명으로 사전예약(600명)과 현장접수(100명)를 통해 참여할 수 있다.
▲ 이외에도 경복궁 수정전에서는 신진 예술가의 특색 있는 무대를 볼 수 있는 ‘궁중풍류(10.13.~14.)’ 공연이 오후 3시부터 3시 50분까지 진행되며, 별도의 예매 없이 관람 가능하다.
▲ 창경궁 통명전에서는 인문학 이야기 공연(토크 콘서트) ‘창경궁, 우리의 유산(10.16.~17.)’이 오후 4시에 진행된다. 16일에는 ‘궁궐 저널, 그날’을 주제로 한 최태성 한국사 강사의 강연이, 17일에는 ‘되찾은 이름의 역사, 창경궁 명칭환원의 의미’를 주제로 한 역사 이야기꾼(스토리텔러) 썬킴(Sun Kim)의 강연이 진행된다. 관람 인원은 회차당 300명으로 사전예약(300명) 또는 현장관람을 통해 참여할 수 있다.
▲ 창경궁 환경전에서는 창경궁 명칭환원 40주년을 기념하는 사진전 ‘다시 찾는, 궁(10.13.~18.)’이 오전 10시부터 오후 6시까지 상설 운영된다. 관람객들은 총 4부로 구성된 40장의 사진을 통해 조선시대부터 일제강점기, 현재로 이어지는 창경궁의 변천사를 살펴볼 수 있다.
또한 경복궁 집경당과 창경궁 경춘전에서 각각 50명의 자원활동가 ‘궁(宮)이둥이’와 함께하는 소규모 체험·이벤트 ‘궁중놀이방’이 오전 11시부터 오후 5시까지 상설 운영된다. 자원활동가 중에는 10명의 외국인도 포함되어 활동할 예정이다.
이와 더불어 온라인(pungsokdo.com)에서는 9월 27일부터 10월 31일까지 나만의 조선시대 인물(캐릭터)을 만드는 참여형 프로그램 ‘모두의 풍속도’를 만나볼 수 있으며, 10월 4일에는 KBS라디오와 협업한 <경복궁 음성 안내(오디오가이드)-조선을 걷다>가 KBS라디오 애플리케이션 ‘콩(KONG)’에서 공개될 예정이다. 음성 안내에는 최태성 한국사 강사와 아이돌 그룹 ‘(여자)아이들’의 미연이 목소리 출연하였으며, 유튜브 궁능TV(youtube.com/궁능TV)에서도 경복궁 향원정을 음성 안내와 함께 영상으로 만나볼 수 있다. * 모두의 풍속도: 지난 2021년부터 시행된 궁중문화축전 온라인 행사로, 지난 2년간 46만여 개의 캐릭터가 만들어짐.

문화재청은 가을을 맞아 진행되는 이번 ‘궁중문화축전’을 통해 국민이 고즈넉한 궁궐에서 색다른 재미와 즐거움을 체험하며 우리 문화유산에 한 걸음 더 가까워지는 기회가 되기를 기대한다.
The Royal Palaces and Tombs Center(Head Shin Seong-Hee) at the Cultural Heritage Administration (CHA) and the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation (President Choi Young-chang) will host the <2023 Fall K-Royal Culture Festival> for six days from October 13th to October 18th at four palaces in Seoul (Gyeongbokgung, Changdeokgung, Deoksugung, Changgyeonggung, Palaces)
The K-Royal Culture Festival is the largest cultural heritage festival in Korea, which has presented a variety of traditional culture contents across the backdrop of the spring and fall of the beautiful palace. <2023 Spring K-Royal Culture Festival> held last April was planned to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Changgyeonggung Palace's Returned Name, and was visited by approximately 383,000 visitors. In particular, it received good reviews for expanding programs in which citizens could directly participate.
<2023 Fall K-Royal Culture Festival>, which will be held starting on the 13th, is a planned program that is different from last spring's festival and is expected to present the unique charm of the palace on a fall day. Variety of programs are prepared on 4 Palaces in particular Gyeongbokgung Palace and Changgyeonggung Palace.
■ In Gyeongbokgung Palace : Special fall performances including Royal Palaces loved by Artists are presented.
During <2023 Fall K-Royal Culture Festival>, a unique performance that matches the autumn of the palace will be held at Gyeongbokgung Palace.
▲ At the Heungbokjeon Hall of Gyeongbokgung Palace, a creative pansori performance called ‘Traditional Pansori storytelling performance (10.13.~14.)’, which tells the story of the restoration of Gyeongbokgung Palace, will be presented to visitors. This performance, featuring the pansori co-creation group ‘IPKOASON’, will be held four times over two days at 11 AM and 2 PM, each performance lasting 60 minutes. Advance reservation is available and some seats are available for on-site visitors.
▲ At JipokjaeHall of Gyeongbokgung Palace, the artist-invited performance ‘Royal Palaces loved by Artists(10.17.~18.)’, which introduces the beauty of the palace, will be held from 7 PM to 8:10 PM. On the first day of the performance, Second Moon (fusion band), Kim Jun-su (sori singer), Ha Yoonju (Jeongga vocalist), and Mu Bin Kim (traditional Korean musician), and on the second day, pianist Yang Bang Ean and an orchestral band will present a special performance on the stage at JipokjaeHall on an autumn night. The number of spectators per session is 600, and participation is possible through advance reservation and on-site registration.
▲ At The Sujeongjeon Hall of Gyeongbokgung Palace, the ‘Gungjung Pungnyu (10.13.~14.)’ where you can see the unique performances of new artists, will be held from 3 PM to 3:50 PM. The performance can be viewed on-site without additional reservation.
■ In ChanggyeonggungPalace :Literature concertand the 40th Anniversary of Changgyeonggung Palace name reclamation photo exhibition
Changgyeonggung Palace will present a variety of programs to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Changgyeonggung Palace’s Returned Name, following the Royal Culture Festival last spring.
▲ At Hwangyeongjeon Hall of Changgyeonggung Palace, the 40th Anniversary of Changgyeonggung Palace name reclamation photo exhibition《Rediscover the Royal Palaces》(10.13.~18.),’commemorating the 40th anniversary of Changgyeonggung Palace’s Returned Name, is permanently operated from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. In the photo exhibition, which consists of 40 photos about the history of Changgyeonggung Palace, you can see the changes of Changgyeonggung Palace in four parts, from the Joseon Dynasty to the Japanese colonial period to the present.
▲ At Tongmyeongjeon Hall of Changgyeonggung Palace, the Literature concert
(10.16.~17.)’ will be held at 16:00. On the 16th, a korean historic lecture by Choi Tae-seong, a lecturer on Korean history, will be held under the theme of ‘Palace Journal, That Day’ on the lifestyle of the palace, including King Yeongjo’s 50th Birthday Ceremony. And on the 17th, under the theme of ‘The history of the regained name, the meaning of Changgyeonggung Palace’s Returned Name’ a lecture by historical storyteller Sun Kim will be held. The number of spectators per session is 300, and participants can participate through advance reservation or on-site registration.
In addition,‘Royal court games play room’, a small-scale experience and event with Goong-ee Doong-ee volunteers, is operated permanently from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at JipgyeongdangHall of Gyeongbokgung Palace and Gyeongchunjeon Hall of Changgyeonggung Palace.
■ Online <2023 Fall K-Royal Culture Festival>, ‘Genre Painting for All’ returns with a new character in 2023.
From September 27 to October 31, you can participate in ‘Genre Painting for All’, a web-based participatory program where you can create your own Joseon Dynasty character through the ‘Genre Painting for All’ website (pungsokdo.com). ‘Genre Painting for All’, an online event for the K-Royal Culture Festival that started in 2021 has gained explosive popularity, attracting approximately 460,000 participants over the past two years.
In addition, this <2023 Fall K-Royal Culture Festival>released
in collaboration with KBS Radio on October 4th. This audio guide, featuring the voices of Korean history instructor Choi Tae-seong and ((G)I-DLE) Mi-yeon, can be enjoyed for free on the KBS radio application KONG, and you can watch the section ofHyangwonjeongPavilion of Gyeongbokgung Palace as a video on YouTube Gungneung TV (youtube.com/@K-royalculture).
