On May 4, 2013, Sungnyemun Gate was finally given back to us. It has been 5 years and 3 months since it was burned down in a fire on February 10, 2008. Ever since its construction, the gate has served as a main entrance to Seoul, watching its people bear their struggles for 600 years.
