문화재청, 제3차 한-아세안 문화유산 협의체 운영회의 개최(12. 12.~12. 13./태국 치앙라이)
문화재청(청장 최응천)은 12월 12일부터 13일까지 태국 치앙라이에서 한-아세안 문화유산 협의체(이하 “협의체”)의 제3차 운영회의를 개최한다. * 한-아세안 문화유산 협의체: 한국과 아세안 10개국, 아세안사무국 등 문화유산 관계자가 참여하는 국가 간 협의체로 2022년 11월 출범
이번 운영회의는 제24차 한-아세안 정상회의 의장성명(2023년 9월, 인도네시아 자카르타)에도 반영된 지난 제2차 운영회의(2023년 5월, 인도네시아 자카르타)의 성과를 바탕으로 2024년부터 본격 추진 예정인 협의체의 첫 번째 한-아세안 문화유산 협력사업의 구체적인 내용과 계획을 논의하기 위한 자리이다.
문화재청은 이번 회의에서 그간 구상해 온 한-아세안 문화유산 협력사업의 계획과 중장기 이행안(로드맵)을 소개하고 아세안 회원국들의 의견을 수렴할 예정이다. 현재 문화재청은 ‘한-아세안 공유문화유산 협력을 통한 사회문화적 연대강화(가칭)’를 주제로 아세안과 협력사업을 추진하기 위해 한-아세안협력기금 신청을 앞두고 있다.
또한 문화재청이 한-아세안 문화유산 협의체의 첫 시범사업으로 올해 8월부터 11월까지 부산정보산업진흥원과 진행한 ‘2023년 한-아세안 문화유산 중심 청년 메타버스 아이디어 공모전’의 베트남 우승팀이 직접 영상을 통해 문화유산과 디지털 기술을 융합한 문화유산 보전 아이디어도 발표할 예정이다.
문화재청은 한-아세안 문화유산 협의체 출범 1년 만에 첫 시범사업을 성황리에 마무리하고, 첫 번째 협력사업에 대한 아세안의 합의를 이끌어내는 성과를 이뤄낸 만큼 이를 발판 삼아 2024년에는 한-아세안 대화관계 수립 35주년을 기념해 문화유산 분야의 국제 전문가회의를 개최하고 한-아세안 문화유산 협력의 중장기 비전을 공유할 계획이다.
또한 앞으로도 국내 아세안 문화유산 유관기관 정보회의, 한-아세안 공유문화유산 자문회의, 주한 아세안대사단 정책간담회 등 다각적인 방법으로 문화유산 분야에서 한-아세안의 협력을 위한 공감대를 형성하고, 관련 정보를 공유하고자 노력할 예정이다.
The 3rd Working Committee Meeting for ASEAN-ROK Cultural Heritage Cooperation hosted by the Cultural Heritage Administration (Administrator Choi Eung-Chon) of the Republic of Korea will be held in Chiang Rai, Thailand from 12 to 13 December 2023.
This Meeting will focus on specific contents and plans of the first cooperation project of the ASEAN-ROK Working Committee on Cultural Heritage Cooperation (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Committee’) on the ASEAN-ROK shared cultural heritage, that will be implemented in earnest from 2024 based on the result of the 2nd Committee Meeting (held in May 2023, Jakarta), which was also reflected in the Chairman’s Statement of the 24th ASEAN-ROK Summit (in September 2023, Jakarta). * ASEAN-ROK Working Committee on Cultural Heritage Cooperation: The inter-governmental committee composed of 24 members of cultural heritage officials from 10 ASEAN Member States, ROK, and the ASEAN Secretariat, inaugurated in November 2022
The Cultural Heritage Administration (hereinafter referred to as the ‘CHA’) will introduce the plan and mid- to long-term roadmap for the ASEAN-ROK cultural heritage cooperation and receive the feedback from the ASEAN Member States. Currently, CHA is preparing for the project proposal under the title of ‘Strengthening ASEAN-ROK Socio-cultural Solidarity through Cooperation on Shared Cultural Heritage (tentative title)’ and plan to apply for the ASEAN-Korea Cooperation Fund for the implementation of the project.
In addition, the Vietnamese winning team of the ‘2023 ASEAN-ROK Youth Metaverse Idea Contest (Focusing on Cultural Heritage)’, which CHA collaborated with the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency from August to November this year as the first pilot project of the Committee, will introduce their idea on cultural heritage preservation through combining cultural heritage and digital technology.
The Committee has successfully completed its first pilot project within a year since its establishment, and achieved a consensus on the first cooperation project on ASEAN-ROK shared cultural heritage. Using this as a stepping stone, CHA plans to hold an international symposium in the field of cultural heritage in 2024 with commemorating the 35th Anniversary of the ASEAN-ROK Dialogue Relations and to share the vision for the ASEAN-ROK cultural heritage cooperation.
CHA will make a continuous effort to form a consensus on the need of strengthening the ASEAN-ROK cultural heritage cooperation and to share related information with different stakeholders through various platforms such as information meeting of domestic network among ASEAN-related organizations, advisory committee meetings, and policy meetings with ASEAN Ambassadors to Korea.
