시청각 콘텐츠 보강하고 관람객 참여 시설로 개편해 27일 공개
문화재청 궁능유적본부(본부장 정성조)는 김포 장릉 역사문화관을 설명 위주 전시에서 관람객이 직접 참여해 느끼고 이해하는 체험형 전시시설로 개편해 오는 27일 새롭게 문을 연다.
김포 장릉은 인조(재위 1623~1649)의 부모인 추존 원종(1580~1619)과 인헌왕후 구씨(1578~1626)의 능이다. 반정(1623)으로 왕위에 오른 인조는 자신의 정통성을 드러내기 위해 부모를 추존하고, 왕족 신분으로 세상을 떠난 부모의 묘였던 ‘흥경원’을 ‘장릉’으로 승격시켰으며 왕릉의 형태도 새롭게 조성했다. 이러한 이유로 김포 장릉은 왕족의 무덤 형태인 ‘원’과 왕릉의 특징이 함께 나타나는 곳이다. *추존: 왕이나 왕비가 아닌 상태로 죽은 왕족이나 왕의 조상에게 사후에 왕이나 왕비의 지위를 주는 것
새롭게 단장한 김포 장릉 역사문화관은 ▲ 김포 장릉 알아보기, ▲ 세계유산 조선왕릉 알아보기, ▲ 소통마당 세 부분으로 구성되었다.
먼저, ▲ 김포 장릉 알아보기에서는 김포와 장릉, 능주의 생애, 장릉의 변화와 공간 특성, 왕릉을 관리하던 사람들을 주제로 다루었다. <장릉지> 등 역사 자료를 바탕으로 궁능유적본부에서 직접 개발한 장릉 캐릭터 ‘참봉’과 ‘판노미’를 통해 더욱 친근하게 전달하려 노력했다. 특히 왕릉을 관리하던 관원과 군인이 어떻게 능을 보호하고, 각자 어떤 일을 했는지 자세히 알아볼 수 있다. * 장릉지: 장릉에 관한 여러 기록을 모아서 편찬한 책. 1777년 처음 작성되었고, 1876년 내용을 보충하였다. 능주의 생애, 장릉의 입지, 관리방법 등이 적혀 있다.
▲ ‘세계유산 조선왕릉 알아보기’에서는 장릉이 포함된 세계유산 <조선왕릉>에 대해 폭넓게 알아보고 체험할 수 있도록 구성했다. 세계유산으로서 <조선왕릉>의 가치와 40기 왕릉의 전체 정보를 담은 무인안내기(키오스크)를 통해 상세한 정보를 찾아볼 수 있다.
마지막으로 ▲ 소통마당에서는 아름다운 왕릉의 사계를 영상으로 보고, 장릉 무석인(武石人) 모형과 사진도 찍을 수 있다. 또한 능과 원의 차이, 왕릉 석물의 특징을 축소모형을 직접 만져보며 체험할 수 있도록 구성했다.
문화재청 궁능유적본부는 조선왕릉 역사문화관을 찾는 방문객들이 휴식과 함께 조선왕릉의 가치를 쉽게 이해할 수 있도록 전시 콘텐츠 내실화를 위해 더욱 노력할 예정이다.
Located in Gimpo, Gyeonggi-do Province, Jangneung Royal Tomb contains the tombs of the parents of King Injo (r. 1623–1649), who were posthumously honored as King Wonjong (1580–1619) and Queen Inheon (1578–1626) of the Ku clan. After King Injo ascended the throne following a coup, he posthumously honored his parents in an effort to legitimize his succession to the throne. He also promoted their tombs to royal status and renamed them Jangneung.
The Royal Palaces and Tombs Center (Director General: Jung, SungJo) of the Cultural Heritage Administration (CHA) has completely reorganized the exhibitions at the History Center at Jangneung Royal Tomb in Gimpo that first opened in 2016. It will reopen the center to the public on June 27.
The exhibitions explore the lives of King Wonjong and Queen Inheon, the occupants of Jangneung Royal Tomb; the changes in and spatial characteristics of Jangneung; and stories of the people who cared for Jangneung. It also provides video clips featuring Jangneung Royal Tomb, which served as a center for Gimpo, and glimpses into the lives of Gimpo citizens.
The exhibitions also focus on the stories of the people who cared for royal tombs. As sacred spaces for memorial rites, royal tombs and their neighboring forests were strictly maintained. Visitors can learn about the lives of these tomb managers, who included officials and soldiers, with the guidance of newly developed characters at kiosks. Moreover, the exhibitions allow visitors to examine in detail the world heritage value of the forty royal tombs of the Joseon Dynasty (including Jangneung), which have been inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List, along with the history and characteristics of each one.
It is hoped that the diverse audiovisual materials, models for hands-on experiences, and friendly and adorable characters at the revamped History Center of Jangneung Royal Tomb in Gimpo will help visitors to learn about the heritage value of the Joseon royal tombs.
