Investigation into the charges bro't(brought) against 邊一 he denied in total every charge: I found myself that he pocketed 50 sen of the ￥5 which Dr. Hahn gave to buy a clock for the J.D. F.M.B. distrust 邊's financial integrity very much. 李商在 testified that he had bought a can of oil from 邊 which belonged to the 勞動學校.

Called on 松井 in the morning and showed him 金麟's letter objecting to the employment of 安在鴻. 松井 laughed. I told him that 金's heart may be good; but his mouth is bad.

崔相浩 and 李商在 兩氏 persuaded 邊 to apologize for his petting peculations in the sight of God. 邊 did so in the presence of F.M.B., 李商在, 李用根, 金俊東, 鄭鎰 and myself. Reconciliation God grant that the repentance of 邊 is sincere and the reconciliation, true.

4 p.m. 各社會代表者 十餘名이 met in the Committee room to talk about how we could make the gentry and young men of the cities to use the Y.M.C.A. as it should be used―for religious, social and educational improvements. 趙璇熙, 李康赫, 金東爀, 白象圭, 朴醫師, 李明赫 and a few others.

The 平壤 Christian College Glee Club gave a concert in the auditorium―I gave them tea after the concert. Wife sick 腰痛 all day and night. 完成 left Seoul this morning for parts unknown.

Y.M.C.A. as usual. 9.30 called on 松井警視 to ask him about 完成. He promised to use wires and phones to search him.

Mr. 李康浩 came to Seoul to join the Y.M.C.A. staff for religious work.

Y.M.C.A. 福音會 at 4 p.m. 金昶濟 gave a good sermon―rather long. Remarkably so large a crowd in a cold day like this.

At 7:30 p.m. 月例會. The house packed by 白南震, 李明遠, 徐丙肇, 張斗徹 and their followers―Evidently they came to have a good time but no quorum―34 only present. Then 白南震 insisted that the membership secretary made mistake in estimating the quorum―a deal of personal attacks―李用根 was evidently in with the crowd.

At 5 to 6 p.m. received ￥3400 for the 雲山租苞. Sent telegram to 白副尉 at 5:30 p.m. After all this a telegram from 白 saying the had 雲山租苞 been sold in 天安! 朴敬鐸 to whom I sold the rice refuse to take back his money.

Mr. 趙學元 who ought to know these things tell me that I have to give the 租苞 to 朴敬鐸 since I have formally receipted the money. Sent 盧進士 to 天安 by 7:30 p.m. train to cancel the 天安糓商's 契約 with 白 if possible. A miserable slip gives me this trouble.

尹秉熙 volunteered the information that the 月例會 made violent personal attack on us a traitor―which didn't happen except in 尹's brain.

Candler returned to Seoul and reported the 銅山祖 affair near satisfactory solution. 姜 and 盧 went to see 朴敬鐸 and persuaded him to take 600 bags instead of 800.

致昞 borrowed 50 bags of 正租 last year from me and bought a rice field. He seemed uneasy because he couldn't return the 正租 and said he was going to sell that field to pay me the debt. I told him to keep the field and cancelled the debt.

Breakfast at 咸悅家. Aunt suppressed her anger and tried to persuade me to repent of my sue against my grandparents by restoring 祭祀.
