국립문화재연구원, 캄보디아‧몽골 문화유산 담당자 대상 역량강화 프로그램 운영 / 5.8.~7.21.
문화재청 국립문화재연구원(원장 김연수)은 오는 5월 8일부터 7월 21일까지 11주 간 ‘2023년도 아시아권 문화유산 보존을 위한 전문가 역량강화 프로그램(Asian Cooperation Program on Conservation Science)’을 진행한다.
이 프로그램은 아시아 국가 문화유산 담당자들을 우리나라로 초청해 보존과학을 비롯하여 고고학, 건축문화유산과 자연유산 등 다양한 분야에서 연수를 받도록 해 보존 역량을 향상시키는 것으로, 지난 2005년부터 시작해 올해 16회를 맞았다.
코로나로 3년간 중단되었다가 다시 열리는 이번 ‘2023년도 아시아권 문화유산 보존을 위한 전문가 역량강화 프로그램’에는 캄보디아와 몽골의 국가기관 문화·자연유산 담당자 2인이 참여한다. ▲ 캄보디아 문화미술부 산하 앙코르유적 보호보존국의 건축보존처리가 로타낙 용(Rotanak Yong)은 캄보디아 역사유적 보존정비 방안 마련을 위하여 국립문화재연구원 건축문화재연구실에서 건축유적 복원정비 방법론 연구에 참여하며, ▲ 몽골 과학아카데미 고생물학연구소의 바산쿠 소욜(Baasankhu Soyol)은 한국 소재 몽골화석의 처리 및 분석을 위하여 국립문화재연구원 자연문화재연구실에서 관련 연구에 참여한다.
이들은 5월 9일 국립문화재연구원에서 진행되는 신규 교육(오리엔테이션)을 시작으로, 한국의 문화유산 현장답사(경주), 국립문화재연구원 내 각 부서에서 진행되는 10주간의 문화유산 보존 교육 등에 참여한다. 이후 11주간의 활동을 정리하는 성과발표회를 끝으로 프로그램을 수료할 예정이다.
문화재청 국립문화재연구원은 3년 만에 현장 교육으로 재개되는 이번 프로그램을 통해 아시아권 국가 간의 문화ㆍ자연유산 보존 분야에서 협력을 촉진하고, 연구원의 문화ㆍ자연유산 관련 전문가들과 함께 연구하고 일할 수 있는 기회를 제공하여 참가자들의 역량을 강화하는데 기여하고자 한다. 이를 통해 우리나라가 아시아 지역 국가들과 국제협력 체계를 유지하고, 문화유산 보존분야를 선도하는 중추 역할을 수행하는 계기가 될 것으로 기대된다.
The National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage (hereinafter NRICH, Director General Yeonsoo Kim), a branch institute of the Cultural Heritage Administration, is operating the "Asian Cooperation Program on Conservation Science (hereinafter ACPCS)" from May 8th to July 21st for 11 weeks.
The ACPCS program, which is in its 16th year, has been held annually since 2005 to improve the conservation capacity of cultural and natural heritage officials in Asian countries, including heritage conservation science, archaeology, architectural heritage, and natural heritage in the Republic of Korea, through various research and training programs. The program was suspended for the last 3 years due to the COVID-19 pandemic and resumed this year.
In this year, two officials from cultural and natural heritage field from Cambodia and Mongolia are participating in the program. ▲Mr. Rotanak Yong from the Division of Conservation and Renovation Office under the Department of Safeguarding and Preservation of Monuments of Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts in Cambodia will be researching methodologies for the restoration and conservation of architectural heritage at the Research Division of Architectural Cultural Heritage of NRICH for the purpose of developing plans for the conservation and restoration of Cambodian historical sites. ▲Mr. Baasankhu Soyol from the Institute of Paleontology under the Mongolian Academy of Sciences in Mongolia will be participating in the capacity-building program at the Research Division of Natural Heritage of NRICH to effectively process and study Dinosaur fossils from Mongolia that have not been previously researched in Korea.
The NRICH aims to promote cooperation in the conservation field of cultural and natural heritage among Asian countries through this program. The institution also aims to contribute in strengthening the participants' capacity by providing them with opportunities to collaborate and work with the institute's specialists in cultural and natural heritage research.
Through these efforts, it is expected that Korea will serve as the global hub country and become the driving force in the field of cultural heritage conservation, maintaining international cooperation relationships with other Asian countries.
