Both 李商在 and 金一善 absent. This is perhaps one of the darkest crises the Central Y.M.C.A. has passed in its history. Enemies outside, traitors inside, indifferent friends and un-balancing finance. 月例會 at 8 p.m. No quorum.

Y.M.C.A. as usual. I was elected a member of the Board of Managers for the Chosen Christian College. Attend its meeting in the a.m. Bishop Welch was present.

Y.M.C.A. as usual. Paid the last instalment of my loan to the Board of Missions, to Rev. Cram. Attended the Mission Meeting the question of conforming to the new education law was up for discussion Mr. Wasson, Cram were all for it. Miss Head and Dr. Bennett heartily approved Mr. Wasson's attitude. I was asked to give my opinion. I strongly urged the wisdom of conforming. Resolution to recommend the Board of Missions to conform our school with New Education Law.

Y.M.C.A. as usual. 安在鴻 called on me at home and said in substance that neither he nor 崔景錫 could serve on the salaries system by the Y.M.C.A. viz: ¥30 for himself and ¥40 for 崔.

Y.M.C.A. as usual. At 12 p.m. invited Miss Head, Miss Bennett and Miss 小倉 and Mrs. 小倉(a German) to 長春館 to a Korean luncheon. The Foreign ladies including Miss Meyers and Mrs. Campbell seemed pleased with the feast. Mother and wife and Mary Abbe hostess, the Japanese pianist and her sister in-law seemed very much delighted with Mary Abbe. At the request of Miss Head with wife, Mary A. and I took picture at 岩由 寫眞舘. 小倉音樂會 in the Y.M.C.A.

Y.M.C.A. as usual. At 12 p.m. with F.M.B. and 丹羽 called on 長谷川總督 in his office, but were asked to come between 1 and 2 p.m. to his residence. Lunch at 江戶川町. Then called on the Governor General. He was gracious to me when Mr. Brockman said something complimentary about me. The G.G. said "Yes, Mr. Yun is so 熱心 and 始終一徹" 7 p.m. dinner at Mr. Bunker's home. Big snow in the night.

Y.M.C.A. as usual. 12:30 p.m. went to 朝鮮ホテル at the invitation of 宇佐美 to meet Bish. Harris and Bishop Welch. Mr. 宇 in a statement like speech praised Bishop Harris, recommended 申興雨 to special favor of the new Bishop and hoped hat Bish. Welch will prove as good a friend to Japanese Empire as his predecessor has been. The 紳士部 had the Christmas service―a cold affair.

Y.M.C.A. as usual. 9:30 a.m. went to Dr. Avison to attend the College Board of Managers. Lunch at the Family Hotel. Saw 松井 this morning, asked about 安在鴻 and 崔景錫. Mr. 松井 said he has no objections to their being employed. Candler came.

Y.M.C.A. 3 coldest days in two years. Lunch at Pagoda Park Restaurant with F.M.B., Choi Sang Ho and 安在鴻. At 3 p.m. 安在鴻 and 崔景錫 came and after considerable parleying, they consented to join the Y.M.C.A. work.

Y.M.C.A. as usual. 2 p.m. went to the dedication service of 慶南敎會. Conspicuous was the presence of 宇佐美長官, 松永道長官, 金谷府尹, 兪星濬氏, 李完用白爵 and 趙子爵. Of the missionaries, Bishop Harris, Miss Frey and Mr. Deck were present. No Presbyterian missionary present. Too long a program. 金一善the Social Secretary presented resignation on the ground that his other business engagements which required 2 hrs. a day, now demand more time.

Y.M.C.A. as usual. 1:30 called on Mr. Usami at his request. He suggested that I might open a correspondence with U.S.M. concerning a 觀光團 to be organized for the Kor. in Hawaii. He had intimations from Pastor 洪翰植 in Hawaii who told someone that my letter would have influence on Yi Sung Man and Pak Yong Man!

Y.M.C.A. as usual. Took Mary to 中村齒醫. Called on 松永道長官 with Mr. 渡瀨. Returned to Y.M.C.A. Building about 4 p.m. 李用根, 朴奎遠, 鄭鎰, 金俊東, 韓聖洙 presented charges against 邊壎 accusing him of improper appropriation of Y.M.C.A. money. They said―鄭 said―they are ready to resign. Promised investigation.

Came to the Bldg. early four. 韓聖洙―He said he had no idea of what 鄭鎰 and 李用根 meant; that 韓 was asked by 鄭 to give his testimony against 邊 because 朴奎遠 said that would have more weight than their words; that 鄭 and 李 are principal movers in the conspiracy against 邊; that 鄭 intimate that 李用根 was to be dismissed in January; that the blow had to be struck at once; that 鄭 fearing dismissal himself precipitate this matters on reporting it to Mr. Brockman. During my absence, the little faction in Y.M.C.A. displays all the tricks that undid Korea!
